In the year 1956 Bruno had been in Canada for 6 years and Bruna for one. Bruno uncle was invited to a home to meet his uncle family and met Bruna and they fell in love. They were married the next year on Beach wood avenue in Hamilton. Bruno was 27 and Bruna was 22.  Lucy was born in September of 57 and had a younger brother and sister. Two days after the wedding they drove to Guelph and her dad started Roma salami  

Lucy favorite memory of childhood is  Always food! The food during carnival time. Sunday afternoons she was always home with the family for a picnic lunch outside.

At night Brunas family back home in Italy during wartime, they would have to make sure no light was able to be seen they would take animal droppings on the frames to seal in the light. To avoid bombings. During wartime the food was rationed, no refined flour. Her mom sarcastically says she was a vegetarian for the majority of her life.
